Institutions, ship-owners, shipbuilders, entrepreneurs and sportsmen from the all over world united for a single goal: to develop increasingly eco-sustainable activities. A special occasion dedicated to this theme took place, during the Monaco Yacht Show, on the 21st of September when, in the magnificent setting of the Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo, the “RINA Green Night” was held.

UIM and ADIMSC sign agreement in Abu Dhabi
His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and the UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli signed a significant cooperation agreement in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADIMSC, met with the UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli at the Abu Dhabi Palace Office to discuss the future of the sport and the development of youngsters’ generation. His Highness expressed his full satisfaction about the successful relationship with the UIM and his willingness to further strengthen the cooperation. At the end of the meeting he ensured his full support for the next six years to the UIM to develop new boats, training centres and set up roads shows to promote the sport among teens and develop new talents and a historical cooperation agreement was signed between the UIM and ADIMSC (Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club).

UIM Yearbook 2010
The UIM (Union International Motonautique) publishes each year a yearbook containing all the powerboating and aquabike results. Enriched with plenty of pictures the season of each class is beautifully described. The federations get their pages also and all reigning world champions of 2010 are listed including a picture. UIM and UNEP working together for greening the Sport
UIM and United Nations Environment Program are working together for greening the Sport. The environmental impact and sustainability measures of major worldwide sport events has been reviewed and discussed at the Global Forum for Sport and Environment held at the headquarters of UNEP in Nairobi, Kenya, on 8-9 November.

President Chiulli opened up new horizons in China
The UIM – F1 H2O circus was successfully involved with three spectacular GP’s in China. The cities of Linyi, Liuzhou and Shenzen hosted respectively the third, fourth and fifth leg of the 2010 UIM – F1 H2O World Championship. China, which hosted also the last race of the UIM 2010 Aquabike Classpro World Championship at Liuzhou, confirmed once more to be an ideal arena for powerboating.

The 83rd UIM General Assembly welcomes International Olympic Committee to Malta
The 83rd UIM General Assembly held in Malta on the 17th of October represented a key moment for the sport of powerboating. The UIM, fully recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since this year Winter Olympic Games of Vancouver, is acting as a loyal and proud member of the Olympic Family. The General Assembly, hosted by the Maltese Powerboating Federation, has been a success both in terms of organization and participation. Several constructive and effective meetings took place during the whole week and brought an invaluable contribution to advancing the UIM agenda.

The UIM Formula Future World and EC bring together Sport, Culture, Education and Fun
Over the weekend of August 14-15, the RYA hosted the UIM World and Continental Formula Future Championships at Carr Mill (Liverpool). This event saw some seventy children from eight different nations engaged in two days of competitive boat handling and manoeuvring exercises for the UIM Formula Future Championships.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Vancouver, Canada approved its Executive Board’s decision to give to the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) “full recognition”. The UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli stated: “The UIM is extremely proud and honored of the recognition given by the International Olympic Committee to the UIM and to our sport.
