Many powerboating fans were eager to see the new powerboating season kick off. Italy is the place to be. There is a new kid on the block: the Bernico 43 Leverage. Built by Nico Bertels this powerboat has some unique shapes. Very daring to say the least. The first leg of the V1 World Championship Powerboat had some surprises in store. Venezia-Rimini UIM C1/V1 World Powerboat Championship
This is a V1 only race starting in Venezia and finishing in Rimini.The route from Venezia up to Monte Carlo is a true adventure for the V hull powerboats. Although the route is situated near the coastline support is not that obvious. On the picture below you can see that the course is quite impressive. (more…)
Victory and Chaudron are the new 2014 World Champions
2014 – Abu Dhabi Race 1
Malta’s Team Chaudron (see photo) whose win moved them 12 points clear in the overall standings and one step closer to the World title. Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi moved to within one point of a 14th World title for Dubai’s Victory Team following an emphatic win in race 1 of the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi.

Ibiza 2014: Chaudron and Victory win!
Sunday, 7 September, IBIZA: Victory and Chaudron produced the stand-out performances of the afternoon and dominated race 2 of the Mediterranean Grand Prix, cruising to emphatic victories in their respective classes in a dramatic race that was red flagged after Abu Dhabi crashed out at the first corner, both Faleh AL Mansoori and Rashed Al Tayer emerging unscathed from the upturned boat. Ibiza 2014: Victory wins race 1 – Tommy One wins in V1
Saturday, 6 September: Thirteen boats lined for the first race in over two decades to see Class 1 catamarans and V1 monohulls running side-by-side, with Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi carrying on from where they left off and when they last raced together in 2011, cruising to an easy victory in race 1 of the Mediterranean Grand Prix to win by a massive 49 second margin. The Victory duo who earlier in the day shared the pole position spoils with LFF10, led from the start and were never challenged, going on to complete the 13 laps in 35:41.85s. (more…)
Ibiza 2014: Pole, victory for KarelPiu in V1
Saturday, 6 September, IBIZA: For the first time in qualifying in C1 for the coveted Pole Position spot, two outfits posted identical times. LFF10’s Luca Fendi and Giovanni Carpitella and Victory’s Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi could not be separated in this morning’s two hour qualifying session for race 1 of the Mediterranean Grand Prix with both posting a 2:46.45s lap. “This is a big step forward.
