2010 Yalta races info

YaltaWe at Powerboating thought that giving more info on the Yalta races would be welcomed by you. So here we go. The Local Event Organiser, under authority from the Ukrainian Powerboat Federation and the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), will organise at Yalta, Ukraine, the UIM Powerboat Yalta Grand Prix of the Sea 2010.

The UIM Powerboat Yalta Grand Prix of the Sea 2010 is a World Championship event conforming to applicable UIM rules and regulations (see Pleasure Navigation Rule 309, please also refer to www.uimpwerboating.com for full details). The teams receive the full documentation on the courses providing the exact co-ordinates of the buoys, start and finish. All races will be run in a clockwise direction. Race director Jean-Marie van Lancker and Kathy Van den Hende who is in charge of the secretary amongst others are flanked by dozens of collaborators to get things organised. All the teams have to perform in their class in two disciplines: the sprint and endurance. The number of laps differs per class (Supersport en Evolution) and per discipline. The endurance always has the biggest number of laps. The start of both disciplines is a so called flying start. All powerboats are located on one line, defined by the Powerpole, next to the starboat. When this last one shows the green flag, it’s full throttle.
