Rounds 5 and 6 of the UIM 2010 World Championship Grand Prix of the sea are just a week away. Poltu Quatu on the beautiful island of Sardinia is the place to be for the next powerboat races held from 9 till June 11th 2010. Keep in mind that the agenda below may change.
As you already know the teams receive extensively more information but this handfull should give you enough to know what is where going on. The powerpole on Friday determines the starting positions for the rounds 5 (Sprint race) and 6 (Endurance race). On Saturday there is the Sprint race and on Sunday the Endurance race. Racing is done in two classes: the Supersport and the Evolution Class.Teams in the first class race in “regular” poduction powerobats and have a speed limit. In the Evolution Class “anything” is possible as long as it’s within the rules and safety regulations. All the powerboats in both classes get scruteneered thouroughly before they are allowed to race. Below you’ll find the exact race courses and pits location but first we give you the time schedule*.

Powerpole
This course will be run in clockwise direction. Distance is 4.83 Nm (8.945 km).
Sprint race
SuperSport: start lap + 8 laps giving a total race length of 44.63 Nm (82.654 km). Evolution: start lap + 9 laps giving a total race length of 49.46 Nm (91.599 km). The race will be run in a clockwise direction.
Endurance
SuperSport: start lap + 13 laps giving a total race length of 68.78 Nm (127.380 km). Evolution: start lap + 14 laps giving a total race length of 73.61 Nm (136.325 km). The race will be held in a clockwise direction.
Pits
The Race village with dry and wet pits will be located in the harbour of Poltu Quatu.
