Bernico triumphs in Venezia-Rimini UIM CLASS V1 World Championship

Bernico PowerboatMany powerboating fans were eager to see the new powerboating season kick off. Italy is the place to be. There is a new kid on the block: the Bernico 43 Leverage. Built by Nico Bertels this powerboat has some unique shapes. Very daring to say the least. The first leg of the V1 World Championship Powerboat had some surprises in store. Three powerboat teams did not start: Chaudron, Karelpiu and Aquasport.

Details are not given. During the offshore race two more powerboats retired namely Searex and Tommy. The only powerboat left being able to cross the finish line within the time limit and racing without any further competition was the Bernico 43 Leverage. Pilot and builder Nico Bertels is quite pleased with this victory in the first leg of the 2015 World Championship Powerboating. That will inarguable juice the whole team. Let’s hope the other powerboat teams will be able to start in the next leg from Salerno to Formia on July 9th so the race as such will become more interesting and thrilling. Here you can read the specs of Bertels’ brand new powerboat.
