In V1 the day and the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi belonged to Italian outfit Karelpiu who added to their Pole Position Championship and race success yesterday, with Federico Montanari and Antonio Schiano completing the win-double in race 2 to secure the V1 World Powerboat Championship. “It was a very tough race especially at the beginning because Bernico was very fast, but we stayed on his back for four laps and then hit the front when they had a problem.” (more…)

2015 – Grand Prix Of Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club , with the authorization of the UIM National Authority – U.A.E. Marine Sport Federation – in cooperation with Class 1 Promotion, under the aegis of the U.I.M., is organizing in Abu Dhabi – U.A.E. Class One the 2015 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi. The event is held from 4 to 6 November 2015 as round 2 of the UIM Class 1 & V1 WORLD POWERBOAT CHAMPIONSHIP. It will be a very exciting race in V1 as you can see in the results. Malta based team Chaudron is leading the participants together with the Italian powerboating team Karelpiu. Their powerboat is a tuned Fountain, from an open version to a closed one. Team Chaudron is named after the shipyard owned by Aaron Ciantar who’s driving the homonymous powerboat. The Belgian team Bernico New Star holds third place and the Germain team Searex Baltec is still racing for a place on the desired World Championship podium.

This is a V1 only race starting in Venezia and finishing in Rimini.The route from Venezia up to Monte Carlo is a true adventure for the V hull powerboats. Saturday, 6 September, IBIZA: For the first time in qualifying in C1 for the coveted Pole Position spot, two outfits posted identical times. LFF10’s Luca Fendi and Giovanni Carpitella and Victory’s Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi could not be separated in this morning’s two hour qualifying session for race 1 of the Mediterranean Grand Prix with both posting a 2:46.45s lap. “This is a big step forward.
