Bacoli 2010 Grand Prix of the Sea race info

2010 Bacoli GPSRounds 7 and 8 of the UIM 2010 World Championship Grand Prix of the sea are just a week away. They will be held in Bacoli. 2. This village is situated at 23 km from Naples International Airport (Capodichino). The race circuit itself is located in the Golfo di Pozzuoli.

The Race village with dry and wet pits will be located in Baia (Bacoli) near the Cantiere Navale Postiglione srl., alongside the Porto di Baia (Via Lucullo, 4 – 80070 Bacoli). The powerpole on Friday determines the starting positions for the rounds 7 (Sprint race) and 8 (Endurance race). On Saturday there is the Sprint race and on Sunday the Endurance race. Racing is done in two classes: the Supersport and the Evolution Class. Teams in the first class race in “regular” poduction powerboats and have a speed limit. In the Evolution Class “anything” is possible as long as it’s within the rules and safety regulations. All the powerboats in both classes get scruteneered thouroughly before they are allowed to race. SuperSport: start lap + 9 laps giving a total race length of 40.32 Nm (74.080 km). Evolution: start lap + 10 laps giving a total race length of 44.55 Nm (81.488 km). The race will be run in a clockwise direction.
