Yesterday July 3rd 2009 the powerpole was decided in a humid atmosphere at 28 degrees Celsius and a flat sea. The team that sets the best time gets to pick the starting place. De powerboat van Team 53 Metamarine Pignolo 53 raakte eerder tijdens testvaarten op vrijdag 08/05/2009 betrokken bij een ongeval. Hun immense powerboat knalde tegen de havenmuur nadat hun boot 360° geflipt was. Piloten Massimiliano ‘Max’ Ferrari and Marco Pennesi werden afgevoerd naar het ziekenhuis waar ze in stabiele toestand verkeren. (more…)
