After a sabbath year the GPS is back. Agreed, even though in 2013 it was only one venue and as you will see later and only one round, it felt good to see the teams again and experience that particular beehive in pit. With winds around 4 Bft and gusts up to 5 the Powerpole was run in the beautiful deep blue waters of Siracusa under a burning sun. In Evolution Furnibo 2B1 (B) beat Snav Kiton Interporto Sud Europa (I) with almost 14 seconds which is a huge distance. Metamarine Foresti Suardi (I) follows on more then 13 seconds of Snav Kiton (I) and got 3rd place. (more…)
Furnibo 2B1 Racing Team who won the powerpole on Friday took the lead from the beginning in the Endurance Race on Sunday in the Evolution Class with the diesel powered Metamarine Foresti & Suardi chasing them closely. As the number of laps increased the distance between these two teams grew and halfway the race Furnibo seemed already invincible. (more…)
The endurance race promised to be very exciting and so it was. Furnibo 2B1 got their Fountain powerboat ready on time. Team Masforce Pegase prayed to the gods for rough seas but the gods misunderstood the good intentions as heavy rains and thunderstorms struck San Benedetto del Tronto. (more…)
Yesterday July 3rd 2009 the powerpole was decided in a humid atmosphere at 28 degrees Celsius and a flat sea. The team that sets the best time gets to pick the starting place. No less than 16 powerboats will be competing in the Powerboat P1 Italian Grand Prix of the Sea. (more…)
